By our laws, they are forbidden due to fears of Sanctists spying or stealing our divine relics. There is good reason to fear that they would invade, if given the opportunity.
... But travelling to our lands is also forbidden to mainlanders as decreed by the Sanctists. They do not want their people exposed to our knowledge or ideas.
It certainly is. To be around so many different kinds of people, and their different perspectives. I quite like it, though. I love my village, but I have always wanted to know more about the lands beyond.
