Before that, though... when we first woke up, we were ourselves, in this sort of between-worlds space, where this... ghost kid asked us to help his friends. Needed to give the manuscript of this history book to one of 'em, and get the others out of some building they were in.
Didn't actually get to that part 'til we were done bein' elda kids. We skipped forward twenty-odd years, and all three of us were split up... it was real weird and disorienting, because I remembered everything from both lives at that point. Just accepted it even though it didn't make any sense.
I think so...? Not sure why we reverted back to that earlier part at first. Just to mess with us, I guess.

...But yeah, once I changed back to normal, the ones from way back then [ vague gesture to his ear and neck ] were healed, and the new ones I got right at the end showed back up.
